The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. 

Class time varies depending on size. On average, 1-2 hours (we host small class sizes). 

What does this course teach?

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Important early use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Class run time is 2-4 hours. We only do small class sizes to ensure everyone is well cared for!

ACLS:

  • For healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response

What does this course teach?

  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology
  • Management of ACS and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS):

  • For healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units

Class run time is 2-4 hours depending on size. We do small class sizes to ensure attention to detail and that everyone is taken care of!

What does this course teach?

The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam.

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to

  • Perform high‐quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) per American Heart Association (AHA) basic life support (BLS) recommendations
  • Differentiate between patients who do and do not require immediate intervention
  • Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest early and begin CPR within 10 seconds
  • Apply team dynamics
  • Differentiate between respiratory distress and failure
  • Perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
  • Differentiate between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock
  • Perform early interventions for the treatment of shock
  • Differentiate between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias
  • Describe clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias
  • Implement post–cardiac arrest management

Our 10-week EMT program is 33 days long M/W/F (5 pm to 10 pm) with additional/optional lab event days. We also have a Sat/Sun (weekend option 5 pm class start time as well). Classes are streamed live online M/W for those needing the virtual option. Lab days are Fridays and/or Sundays. Upon completion, students receive a certificate of completion and are eligible to take the National Registry Exam (NREMT). This allows for national and state licensing as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). Our program is very immersive, hands-on, and fun. We do our best to interact with and accommodate students from all facets of life.

Our EMT course incorporates interactive activities, multimedia resources, guest speakers, and practical assessments. These elements help keep students engaged and motivated throughout the course. We start ride time early, which maximizes hands-on time, professional development, and exposure to the dynamic and real world of EMS.

The EMT Refresher Course is a 24-hour course designed for a certified EMT or NREMT exam/failed after the 3rd attempt. This course meets the AZDHS/Arizona criteria and NREMT requirements. This course is open to traditional state-only certified EMTs or NREMT EMCT providers. Inactive EMT providers are also required to take this traditional 24-hour refresher course. 

The student will receive a certificate of completion; we also offer guidance with the NREMT and AZDHS recertification process if needed.  Please reach out to us with questions. 

EMT certification/license via state or NREMT is required for enrollment or evidence of completion of a state-approved program.

An active BLS provider AHA card is also required. WE INCLUDE THIS IN THE CLASS

The Paramedic Refresher Course is a 48 hour course designed for the currently certified Paramedic who is required to have either 48 hours of continuing education for Arizona state re-certification, or an NREMT approved Paramedic Refresher Course to meet the NREMT re-certification requirements. INCLUDES BLS/ACLS/PALS 

This course meets the AZDHS/Arizona criteria and NREMT requirements. 

The student will receive a certificate of completion; we also offer guidance with the NREMT and AZDHS process of recertification if needed.  Please reach out to us with questions.

NAEMT's 10th Edition Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) is recognized around the world as the leading continuing education program for prehospital emergency trauma care. The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of prehospital care. PHTLS is developed by NAEMT in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons' Committee on Trauma. The Committee provides the medical direction and content oversight for the PHTLS program. 

PHTLS courses improve the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality. The program is based on a philosophy stressing the treatment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. PHTLS promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. It is based on the belief that, given a good fund of knowledge and key principles, EMS practitioners are capable of making reasoned decisions regarding patient care. The course utilizes the internationally recognized PHTLS textbook and covers the following topics:

  • Physiology of life and death
  • Scene assessment
  • Patient assessment
  • Hemorrhage control
  • Airway
  • Breathing, ventilation, and oxygenation
  • Circulation and shock
  • Special populations

The course emphasizes application of trauma education through case studies, skills practice, and patient simulations.

PHTLS is the global gold standard in prehospital trauma education and is taught in over 80 countries. PHTLS is appropriate for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians, and other prehospital practitioners. PHTLS is accredited by CAPCE and recognized by NREMT. (16 hours of CAPCE)

Attend our authorized AZDHS Critical Care Paramedic course, which

consists of 200 hours of education(CE hours); this includes flexible and live lectures from industry experts across the state. 40 hours of clinical training and 25 hours of field training with critical care-specific providers. Our course is intended to prepare you to Sit for and pass the Board of Critical Care and Transport Paramedics Certification (BCCTPC) or Flight Paramedic Certification (FPC). Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate specific to the AZDHS Critical Care approval standards.

Once the student has passed the CCP-C or FP-C, they can apply for the AZDHS Critical Care Paramedic Endorsement. Please contact us with any questions.

There will be live lecture meetings every Wednesday, with additional study sessions announced throughout a 10-week period. This allows for flexibility for the working Paramedics. Links will be sent out after enrollment. In-person lab locations may vary (total of 4 all-day sessions for lab days). The following AMLS courses are offered to address the needs of providers and instructors:

UPDATED 4th EDITION

  • Provider Course: 16-hour course for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and physicians. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion, a wallet card recognizing them as AMLS providers for 4 years, and 16 hours of CAPCE credit. This course may be offered as a classroom course, or a hybridcourse where students take 8 hours of the course online followed by 8 hours in the classroom.

  • Refresher Course:  8-hour course for individuals who have successfully completed the 16-hour AMLS provider course within the past four years. Current AMLS provider certificate or wallet card required. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion and 8 hours of CAPCE credit. 

  • Online Modules: 8-hour online module that covers the didactic portion of the course. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion and 8 hours of CAPCE credit.
